shanmonster: (Spasmolytic)
After prompting by [livejournal.com profile] zero_design, I cooked up a couple of sausages for myself. And now that I've eaten them, I remember why I don't like them: they're slime-filled sleeping bags stuffed with greasy, greasy pork fat!

I think the last time I ate a sausage was about five or six years ago. I hope I go at least twice that time before eating another.

I went to bed around 9:30 or so last night, and at some point, at what seemed like the middle of the night, the phone rang. As is my way, I lunged for the phone as I was waking up. "Hello?" I asked urgently. "What time is it???"

"Oh, I'm so sorry," said a strange female voice. "I must have woken you up. I'm soooo sorry! It's 10:30. I thought that wouldn't be too late to call."

"Uh, yeah. I was asleep. I get up at 5:30 in the morning for work. Who is this?"

And it ended up being a hotel where I'd applied for work. They told me they'd call back this afternoon, but so far, they haven't. If I don't hear back from them before I go to dance class, I'll try giving them a call. I really want a better job than the one I have.

But what employers would call so late at night? I don't call anyone after 9, unless it's an emergency, or I know they stay up late.

Anyhow, I didn't get much sleep because of the adrenaline pumping through my system after leaping out of bed like that. Some day, I'll train my body not to be so goshdarned somnambulistically-inclined to lurch for the phone. At least I answered in English, which is better than some of my historical late-night phone answerings.

Hope you hear good news from the hotel!

Have you tried turkey sausage? Turkey saudage + jerk sauce = good :)

When I was a little girl, I used to eat smokey sausages, and I sorta liked them. I've hated breakfast sausages since I was a toddler, though. I decided I couldn't stand any kind of sausage about fifteen years ago, but I've not tried turkey ones. Hmm....

I'm going to call the hotel. I still haven't heard from them.

*fingers crossed*

turkey sausage doesn't have much taste, and is pretty dry -- so some sauce to wet and give some taste is good.

I just called them and found out the woman I need to speak to won't be there until 9 tonight. So I'll call them after my dance class....

Yup! I have an interview tomorrow. It's at Cafe 1842.

Huzzah!

I haven't ever worked there, but as someone who has given Cafe 1842 more money then I should have, they are a nice place to go to study/chat/have a casual date. They also have organic coffee, which makes me happy.

I've heard the manager is a bit of a spazz, but all the staff that I've talked to enjoy working there. Good luck!!!!
