Good News Bad News

So I won't be going to the Epica show. The powers that be did not rain down upon me the money I am owed. But, I did get more proofreading work today, so that's a blessing. A bit of a mixed blessing, alas. I was just getting my writing groove on when the work came in. So, screeching halt to creativity, and hello money-making grind.

I'm thinking of taking a one-off dance workshop in a style I never wish to use professionally: striptease lap dance. Why? For the curiosity of it all, really. For so long, I've been studying a dance which I do not perform in a sexual way, but has sexual overtones for the average viewer. Yeah, belly dance seen by western audiences as hoochee coochee. So I'm curious to see what a dance is like where the desired effect is the erotic in nature. I'm curious to see the physical differences (contact notwithstanding). And yes, I know I do burlesque, too. But still, no contact, and the stuff I do is pretty darned light and not at all overt.

Link time, and then I'm back to proofing.

Body Scanner Operator Caught Masturbating at Colorado Airport: The tone of this article makes me question its veracity. But I think masturbating to those xray images is about as lame as masturbating to scrambled French cable channels, where if you squint a little, you can kinda sorta see a boob amidst the static. (Edit: Yep. It's a parody site.)

Health Check: The boy who was raised a girl: Sometimes it is nature over nurture. Personally, I think this article is also another example of why circumcision is a terrible thing to do to a baby.

I think The Daily Squib is the U.K. equivalent of The Onion.

Well, that would explain the tone of the article, then.

The rest of the articles on the Daily Squib makes it pretty clear that it's a news parody site, much like The Onion. One of the articles is bylined "Himmler Reichstagg".

Whoops. Beaten to the punch by two minutes.

Hahah! That's what happens when I'm too busy to look elsewhere on the site.

Ah well. Finished my proof reading for today, and am back to writing again. That was nice and quick, and relatively painless.
