So I went to see The Matrix Reloaded yesterday. Don't worry, I won't give any spoilers. I will give a few impressions, though. First of all, I think the first movie was much better. Many of the action scenes seemed purely gratuitous. There were times when the movie felt like an extended car chase.
Also, what was with the Solid Gold Dancers wall-to-wall orgy scene? It sure felt like filler to me. And the movie did seem filled with filler--calorie-rich but nutrient-lacking chase scenes and love scenes. What plot there was seemed fine, but I'd have liked a lot more of it.
Pandora's dress was ugly and would give anyone a fat ass. I sure hope butt ruffles aren't really coming back in style.
Oh, and watching Keanu's bony ass doing kung fu made me realize there was nothing he actually did that I don't already do on a typical Tuesday night. If I had wires and lots of cameras doing cut scenes while I went through my paces, I'd look pretty spiffy, too.
My yesterday was spent with my sister. After having barbecued chicken and fruit salad, we took her adorable little cat out for ice cream (well, she licked the dish, at least) and then to Odell Park for a walk. The kitten walks on a leash better than most dogs I've had. Then we took the cat home and went for a long, aimless drive. We went out to Lower Buttfuck, NB. It was actually somewhere past Tracy en route to St. Stephen, but once the dirt road became so rough I was certain it was corrugated, we decided to turn back. I rolled down the windows and listened to the peepers. They were so loud and insistent you'd think they had megaphones and attitude problems. "PEEP PEEP PEEP, fucking PEEP, goddamnit!" Nothing subdued there, that's for sure. Then we drove off to Pokiok. Why? Well, why not? Today, we're supposed to go to Woodstock to check out some thrift shops just for the fuck of it.
