Cowardice Rears Its Ugly Head
May. 31st, 2003 10:56 pmI feel like I'm going off to war tomorrow, and in a way, I am. It's funny, but I wasn't really nervous about the sparring until this week's training. When I realized how hard I was hitting, it suddenly made me realize that if I'm hitting that hard, and I have very little sparring experience, that the others are going to be hitting a whole lot harder.
I have a form of stage fright, and I'm not used to it. Normally, I take things as they come, whether it's a dance performance, live emceeing, or acting on stage. But this fighting thing is scary. I could get a black eye or a broken arm or something. Eep.
I must remember to guard my centre line. If I keep my guard up, I should only take glancing blows.
If I was the religious type, I'd ask you to pray for me....
