I Need a Helmet
May. 1st, 2005 12:00 amThe more I play with these poi, the more I smash myself in the head with them. Now I have two lumps. Damn. They hit like a good left hook. On the plus side, I've added a new movement to my repertoire: a corkscrew. And now I can transition cleanly (most of the time) from my one-handed weaves.
Over the head and behind my back butterflies are still concussion-causing, though. My head hurts and is lumpy. I'm seriously considering waiting until I have my bike helmet before I try those manoeuvres again.
In other news, I had another ignorant customer. This one asked for a number for a hotel. So I said, "306-555-5555".
They countered with, "So it's toll-free if I add 1-800 to the front of all that, right?"
Er, wrong. If only it worked that way, I'd call all my long-distance friends for free all the time!
