Being Put Into a Pissy Mood
May. 11th, 2005 02:06 pmYesterday, while I was hard at work booking hotel rooms, my nostrils were accosted by the hot, acrid scent of fresh piss. I'm quite sure one of my co-workers was attacked by incontinence. It was both horrific and inescapable.
I'm pretty pooped out today. I got back to the gym after a week's absence. My running is getting better. I can do a half mile punctuated by jumping jacks and dragons without wanting to die. It's good to know my cardio is doing well. However, the hip adductor, once one of my easiest machines, has become my enemy. I had to drop the weights on it again. I'm not sure what's up with that. In the meanwhile, I'm doing just ducky with all the other weights.
My shoulder feels all bruised up today. At first, I couldn't think of why. After all, I wasn't hit there in kung fu class last night. But then I remembered we were doing front rolls, and my first one was pretty crashingly bad. I'm just way out of practice for tumbling.
When I got home last night, much to my happiness, I had received a package from Amazon. It included:
Eric N. Franklin's Dance Imagery for Technique and Performance - after skimming through it briefly, I'm very impressed. It appears to be a very useful book, both for my own dancing and for teaching.
Bellydance Performance Ensemble with Suhaila: I've watched excerpts from it, but nothing in detail.
Bellydance for Beginners with Suhaila: Fitness Fusion - 4 Volume Gift Set (Buns, Jazz, Pilates, Yoga): I'm looking forward to this the most. Maybe I'll get to try some of it when I get home tonight.
I attended a propaganda show on my first break. Sitting through it was worth it, because I was given free food, was entered into a draw, and got a gift packet including gum, Tylenol, and a bottle of booze. Ha!
Work is very busy again. I want the calls to slow down, please.
