I'd Hit It

Hey! This physio thing seems to be working. I've lost so much faith in the medical system, that I'm surprised when something actually works. Today, I discovered that although I've still got a lot of lost flexibility to regain, I can now do side splits without suffering from stabby stabby tearing pain in my leg.

The exercises, the ultrasound, the massage, and the muscle stimulation machine (technically different from a TENS machine, I was told), are working. I go back in two weeks to continue. I think my therapist may take a look at my ailing foot, too, to see if anything can be done with that.

I did a wee spot of Christmas shopping today, getting some doodads for [livejournal.com profile] f00dave, since the two presents I ordered in for him have been waylaid. One was lost in the mail, and the other has had its publication date shoved back until April. So I guess you're getting a raincheck on the book, f00. I won't tell you what the other present is, because I don't want you to be disappointed.

[livejournal.com profile] gha5t has lent me a set of nunchaku that I've been beaning myself with for the past two days. It's like a distant cousin of poi, and I know I'll get the hang of it, but it's going to take a couple more hours of practice before I can start looking halfway competent. In the meanwhile, I'm still figuring out more poi stuff. I can do a bizarre sort of diagonal weave now, with one poi over my head and the other at my waist, then switch off to go the other way. I'm trying to figure out how to do a directional change with one poi while doing a double weave, but so far, I still need a helmet while I'm practicing. I kept chaining myself across the skull. Hoorah!

Now I just have to do some tidying up before [livejournal.com profile] snowy_kathryn arrives, and start making a roast chicken supper for this evening. Mmm. Chicken....

Here are a couple of links before I go into housewife mode:

Viafin-Atlas: NSFW. "Viafin-Atlas are the world leaders in the manufacture of artificial foreskin for circumcised men. After 20,000 hours of research and development over five years, Viafin-Atlas proudly offer the SenSlip - the world’s first ever artificial retractable foreskin for circumcised men."

FULL SIZE STUFFED ANTIQUE AUTHENTIC HORSE TAXIDERMY: What I really want for Christmas. Or not.

Dude with facial modifications: I suspect that when he gets a cold, he turns into a snot cannon.

Robot Fish Debut in London: Yes, it's a fish debutante.

Demonbaby: NSFW blog which I find very entertaining.

Oh yes, and go check out "my" radio station: I'd Hit It.

Forget it! He said how she had to keep things clean
(Lick the carpet, dust the dog)
You have to keep things clean!
(Mow the windows, shine the socks)
Oh you've got to keep things clean.

If you licked my kitchen floor, it would taste of lemons.
