Sep. 10th, 2008 09:49 amYesterday I got a bunch of junk mail, so I decided to do some minor spam terrorism. I opened all of the junkograms and removed all of the no-postage-required envelopes. Then I filled them all with the contents of the other spam letters, and sent them out.
Normally, I try to get more ornate. In the past, I've enclosed friendly letters to whoever opens these things, hardcore pornography, coupons, and postcards.
I guess I was just getting lazy, this time around.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit it, but I've been playing Sims 2 lately. I would call it a right and total time waste, except that somehow, it's really not. Getting points for doing chores and socializing and whatnot in the game has made me more productive at home. I've been doing more costuming, baking, and exercise lately than I've done in previous weeks. I discovered two very tasty recipes (which I shall share), and invented a third (which I didn't bother writing down, as is typical for me when I invent recipes). I'll try to remember what went into it, though, because it's yummy.

Yesterday, I attended my first jumps, kicks, and turns dance class. I was, by far, the most inexperienced student in the class. All of the other attendees obviously have ballet backgrounds, whereas I have maybe five or six hours of ballet training, tops. Most of the stuff done in the class was completely new to me, although I have a passing familiarity with a couple of the leaps from my lyrical and Martha Graham modern classes almost ten years back. I took a bad landing during one of the "Russians" and think I compressed something in my foot, but I believe the injury is quite minor. Still, I wish someone would explain the techniques to me one-on-one, rather than have me just leap into it without explanation.
At least I know what I'm doing with the kicks. I've always been good at kicks. And at least I remember what first position, second position, relevé, and plié mean. Heh....
The instructor declared amazement that I do not have a background in this sort of dance. Apparently, I was doing exceedingly well for a novice, and she'd assumed I'd done this stuff before. So I guess I didn't look too ridiculous. Hmm....
......
Today's plans include a cycling class, going for a run, teaching a dance class, completing some LARP costuming, baking a peach pie, and, if I have some time after all of that, doing some writing.
