shanmonster: (Spasmolytic)
I leave for my job interview in about 20 minutes, and it's looking very ominous outside. Balck clouds and shrieking wind are gathering quickly, and my bike ride is about 20-30 minutes in length.

I'm glad the employer already has my résumé or she might end up with a mass of paper pulp and runny ink. As it is, she'll likely be interviewing a very wet and bedraggled ShanMonster. I located a pair of splash pants, and [livejournal.com profile] zero_design lended me a rain coat, so I might be ok.

In other news, I spent 90 minutes or so practicing poi and kung fu today. I have chosen my music for my poi performance: Ruslana's Dikiye Tantsy. Nothing like some Ukrainian pop with a Maori dance prop to spice up a Middle Eastern dance night. Syncretic dance indeed.

And synaesthetically speaking, my feet and legs feel nauseated. They've felt like they need to puke since yesterday. I hope this goes away soon. It's discomfiting.

how old were you when you started getting so active into all of these arts you practice?

Varying ages. Dance started when I was 25, I think. I started martial arts when I was 29. Poi wasn't until I was 34.

Is this the song that helped Ruslana win the Eurovision Song Contest? I think it was really good!

I believe that's the one!

Have you seen the video? I think it was a fantastic show. Click here (http://devoted.to/eurovision/) and go to "Eurovision Winners" and then "Istanbul Turkey 2004".

I think it will look great with poi. (And good reminder I should practise spinning.)
