Last night, I did a photo shoot with
angramainyu. As always, he lit the scene beautifully and caught some lovely shots. I'm still going through the proofs, but expect to see some of his gorgeous photography soon.
I went to the sports medicine clinic yesterday and got some promising news. The doctor doesn't believe my foot pain is caused by a bone spur, but by my work. It's the constant go-go-go on the very hard floor that's been doing in my feet (pretty much as I figured). I have an inflammation right in between my ankle and heel, and just by virtue of its placement, the fluids are trapped and the inflammation can't go down by itself. Since I can't exactly quit my job just yet, I'm to take four Advil a day, ice my foot regularly, and wear a support brace all the time.
That sounds a helluva lot better than the first doctor's advice: "Quit dance. Nothing else can be done for it."
I just heard from Rhaehana that the University of Waterloo may be interested in having me teach poi classes. Awesome! But how the heck am I going to fit that in my schedule when I work every night? Gah.
Now, I simply must get rid of these links before restarting my poor, bogged-down computer.
Sheriff's Deputies Make Bizarre Arrest: Naked, and covered in oats.
Corset Bra: When I get money again, I want to get
meddevi's patterns for the corset-style top and belt.
Nikola Tesla's 'Black magic' Touring Car: I think I'd like an "I Heart Tesla" tshirt.
Flex Appeal: Elderly lady cleans up at body building competitions. Go granny, go!
Rachel Brice demonstrates a reverse undulation walk. I'd like to see a slow-motion version so I can figure it out.
