I feel like I'm cheating. I was sent home from school around 4:30 because all my work was crap. My migraine reinstituted itself this afternoon, and despite all my hard work, everything was coming out like shit. I sanded blindly while resting my head on my desk, and when I asked questions, I stared blankly and uncomprehendingly while simplistic answers were given to me. It was a relief to be told to go home. At least my effort was being acknowledged. If the rest of the week continues along this vein, I sure hope I can get another extension.
Wet, sloppy snow bukkaked the city all morning. I was soaked while biking to school. And now it's raining steadily and heavily. While dodging sluices of water shot up by other traffic, I watched grass poke up from slush. Now that I've taken my boots off, the room smells uncomfortably like Swiss cheese. Scroffy is nowhere to be seen. I hope he found someplace warm and dry to roost.
I'd vowed to go back to the gym and to kung fu this week, but my migraine is battling this decision. When I got home, my hearing was shutting down. It was like suddenly descending a steep hill in a fast car and forgetting to swallow to pop my ears. Only with this sort of shutdown, swallowing doesn't accomplish anything. For a few moments, I was afraid I might black out altogether, but now that I'm sitting down, I'm reaching a sort of equilibrium.
Last night, while my brain was giddy with the promise of sleep, f00 taught me some basic calculus without benefit of paper and pen. I have no idea what I can do with these integrals, but they're there, should I need them. And in the midst of all that math talk, I blurted out something in all honesty that both embarassed and delighted me.
