Playing a character with a split personality is really quite tricky. My gaming notes, which are now amass almost 200 pages, are written in a comprehensible-to-me code. I can tell at a glance what information Elisabet knows, and what information Margd knows. But it still gets confusing in-game, for both me and the GM. It's a damned good thing I take such impeccable notes, or we'd be screwed.
I need to make two separate character sheets for them, now, because they've been developing their skills in rather different areas. One's into torture and manipulation. The other is into helping the downtrodden and other humanitarian work.
The scary thing is that if my character should ever commit diablerie, then another personality will be added to the midst. Here's hoping Elisabet behaves herself....
For the past month or so in my Vampire game, the magnificently malevolent Elisabet has been the dominant personality. She has been very busy, and has gathered quite a collection of staked Kindred: her childe (or should I say, Margd's childe) Magnus, Magnus's regnant Penelope (who plots against us), and Magnus's thrall Terry. Elisabet was just about to kill Penelope, bloodbind Magnus, and wait and see how Terry could be used.
Last night, Elisabet was attacked by a Sabbat war band, and managed to do a royal botch while using dementation. For the next three months, she's in a state of mild paranoia. In trying to escape those naughty Sabbat, she burned off a little too much blood. And suddenly Margd (who feels residual paranoia, although perfectly understandable at the moment) awoke to see the fist of a seven-foot-tall vampire coming at her face while she was pinned to the wall by a Lasombra's shadow tentacles.
Despite the total mindfuck of it all, she managed to escape. Good old pumped strength. Good old obfuscate. But when she returned home and discovered all those staked bodies, she did the "right thing" and freed Magnus and Terry. She threw herself at Magnus's feet, clutching his knees and begging forgiveness, whereupon he stepped aside, unstaked and ran off, hand in hand, with Penelope. Margd fled after saying such things as, "Wait! I'm sorry! Can't we please talk?"
Oi.
They got away, of course.
When this happened, the game was ended a bit early for the night because the GM has a lot of thinking to do. I wonder if the other members of my party shall ever forgive me?
The Elisabet half of me is pissed. Goddamnit to hell!
But the Margd side is quite pleased with herself. Maybe now Magnus can have a better (un)life....
