shanmonster: (Lost in a velvet morass)

Last night, I went to see Dawn of the Dead, and yea, it was good! The opening track by the Man in Black pretty much cemented it, for me. Afterwards, while watching the credits, I noticed a strange thing, though. Apparently, Azam Ali has something to do with the movie. It zipped by too quickly on the credits to see what her role in the film-making was, and I haven't had any luck ferretting it out online, either. I can't recall any Azam Ali-esque music in the soundtrack. Maybe she was a zombie scream sound effect, or something. Any ideas?

Tonight, I continued my zombie-movie viewing with the absolutely horrid Zombie Nightmare, starring Adam West and Tia Carrere. It's certainly no Dawn of the Dead--not by a long shot. And for some reason, the actor playing the zombie changes about halfway through the movie. Maybe it was one of those Plan 9 From Outer Space moments when the lead dies, so needs to be replaced by the starlet's chiropractor. I also question the fact that only a giant on steroids would be able to break a person's neck. Ah well....

And now, just because, here's a recent portrait of yours truly, taken by photographer Mary Ellen:

That's an incredible portrait. I love it.

Thanks! I'm going back into the studio with the photographer next week. She wants to take some pictures based on a few paintings of Michaelangelo. We'll see how that goes....

Oh, very nice!

I like it. Very dramatic. Nevertheless, a smile would have been nice too.

I have smiley pictures, too. I'll get around to putting them up, later.

You look cranky or possibly just unimpressed, I think because of the way you are looking up, and also because you never actually wear that expression much. Still a nice pic :D

I tried on lots of facial expressions for the photoshoot. It is cranky-looking, but I think this is still my favourite picture from the whole batch.

What a lovely portrait! Can't wait to see some of the Michelangelo based ones (if you share, that is). :)

I accidentally misspoke myself. They'll be da Vinci photos. Oops!

If they turn out decently, I shall indeed share them. I just hope Mary Ellen will get her own website soon. She takes some really lovely portraits.

You remind me of Antoinette Bower in this picture – it’s magnificent.
