Whoo! That felt good. Maybe I didn't train for long, but it was the longest kung fu session I've been able to endure for quite some time. I did about 150 bows, working on the technique of it. There were a few problems I'd had all along, but Pete straightened me out quite a bit. Apparently, I've been using a variant on a leopard strike when a basic fist was all that was required. Also, I hadn't been doing a subtle head turn which I was unaware of, and I wasn't doing a big enough leap at the onset. Well, by the 150th iteration, my leaps weren't so very bouncy, and my technique had fallen all to hell again, but I felt good just at being able to get through all that without having to go lean on the wall while clutching my chest.

And then (will wonders never cease?), I got a little bit of sparring in. I fought with Pete and Ian. I had to end the second match early, because I was done in, but I did get a few decent hits in. I thwacked poor Ian good and hard on the side of his head, and somehow managed to get Pete to punch himself. I'm still not sure how that happened, but I'll take serendipity when it arises.

I think the guys are still training, but a few situps and stretches later, and that was it for me. Hopefully, I'll last even longer the next time. Right now, my asthma's acting up a bit, but I won't take the puffer unless I absolutely have to.

The good thing about not being able to do a full kung fu session is that it lets me get home earlier and do other, less physical, things. So now maybe I'll get to do that painting, video-watching, and reading, after all.

Is there some bizarre reason that all my e-mails to you keep on getting bounced?
I'm going to be placing an order with Thaigem.com (http://www.thaigem.com/) shortly. My client (heh) is paying for the $15 shipping, so getting it to the States will be painless. Sending mail is cheap from New England to Canada isn't terribly expensive; would you be interested in getting anything? They have some lovely large semi-precious stones for under $10 (I especially like their jasper) and their calibrated lots are a cheap way to get nice small faceted stones.

I have no idea why your emails are getting bounced. Odd....

Thanks for the opportunity on purchasing Thai stones, but I know I'm waaaay overbudget on gems. I'm expecting some cubic zirconia in soon, and that should do the trick for my upcoming projects quite nicely.
