I think I have a brainy body and a muscle head.

My jewellery rendering is pissing me off. It's really hard to paint on vellum. The watercolours have a terrible tendency to suddenly lift right off the paper as soon as I come near it with a brush. It's quite frustrating. Still, I think I've gotten the idea of my design across. I'll go see if it'll scan decently....

Nope. It's a crappity scan. But that's what I get for having a crappity scanner. Ah well. You can at least get the idea of what I'm working on!

Thanks! I need a lot more practice rendering facetted gemstones, but I'm ok with the colour of my gold.

Thanks!

No, all I've been doing is outlining the area with pencil crayon before painting. It seems to act as a resist well enough, but the paint really doesn't spread very evenly.

I've never used gum arabic. I'll look into it.

Thanks!

I've already made a ring in this style, although using sterling silver and pink cubic zirconia rather than gold and sapphires.... I plan on developing the line more, as soon as I get the opportunity. In the meantime, I have to begin work on a hollowform bracelet, and I suspect it's going to cause me a lot of stress.
