shanmonster: (Spasmolytic)

I'm having a birthday party on Friday, and you're invited! Won't you please attend my third palindromic birthday? It will be my second birthday party ever, and I'm hoping for a cake. I don't like cake very often, but this will be one of those times when I'll gleefully scarf it down! And the way I figure, it isn't a party unless there are dancing girls. Bring on the dancing girls!

This picture is from my first and only other birthday party. It was a surprise! From left to right are Michaela (aka Lisa), Noémie, Sephira, and me.

[Dancing Girls]

The party didn't just have dancing girls, though. There was also a dancing boy. Witness a shimmying [livejournal.com profile] superbrad, and tremble in fear....

Why only two birthday parties? I mean,
if you're a Leap Day child, it would
be silly to celebrate it in June. Al-
though, I guess, not much sillier than
celebrating it on Feb 28th or March 1...

Shan was raised in a Jehova's Witness environment: they don't do birthdays (or pretty much anything except wedding anniversaries, actually). At 33, I figured she'd be too old for cake and sparklers and silly hats, but ... I guess not. She might get cake. IF SHE CLEANS UP HER MESS IN THE LIVING ROOM. Wonder if she heard that? ;-)

Would that I could! Any excuse to don my ghawazee and jingles, and shimmy the evening away.

It's still an excuse! Shimmy at home, and I'll know you're dancing along with me.

Happy birthday, Shan!

I've never heard of it referred to as the third palindromic birthday, but damn if it doesn't make sense! I hit that milestone last fall, and celebrated with a few bottles of Rolling Rock. Quite appropriate to the day, actually. I refer to it as the Rolling Rock birthday, but then, I'm not so very cultured :)

We'll have to have a toast in your honor when I'm in your neighborhood in July. Wish I could be at the party on Friday!

A beer produced in Pennsylvania, and apparently not for export. I have no idea why, but the number '33' appears on every bottle, hence the connection.

I say silly things when I post after a night out with friends :)

Since you have such a fondness for links, I thought I'd provide a bit more information about Rolling Rock (http://www.snopes.com/business/hidden/rolling.asp).

Happy happy happy and may you have many more palindromes and parties.

Thank you, mightily!

I think it's the twelfth palindromic birthday actually. (If you count the single digits as palindromic, which, in a way, I think they are.)

Happy birthday in any case.
