My hamstrings are still sore from yoga. Wowzers! I have to love a workout that leaves me aching like this. It means it's really making me work, and grow those muscles larger still. I had a weird thing happen today, that's somewhat related to that. The medicine man who makes drums in a nearby casemate suddenly said, "Why aren't you eating?"
"Uh, I just ate a banana a couple of minutes ago," I said.
"A banana," he scoffed. "You're losing weight."
"Well, I am down about fifteen pounds from last summer."
"I know. You need to eat more."
Admittedly, the banana had been all I'd had to eat at that point for the day, but my lunch was a decent size, and plenty nutritious. I don't think I'm skinny, though. Neither do I think I'm fat. I think I'm fit, although lacking the muscle (and fat!) density I had last year. Maybe he noted the change in my size because the pants I'm wearing today are a bit loose around the butt and abdomen. They're supposed to be tight pants.
I guess the next time he says I'm too skinny, I'll just flex a few muscles for him and tell him how much I do weigh. People chronically underestimate my weight by a couple dozen pounds or so. My muscles might not be big and lumpy, but they're long and solid. Hell, I pump 95 kg on the hip adductor machine, and could probably up it some more. I don't think I could do that if I didn't eat enough.
Tonight, I finally made my kung fu class after a hiatus imposed by the resurgence of my old neck injury. It was good to be back, but the room was far too humid! I could see steam creeping its way up the mirrors. A year ago, I would've been experiencing blackout after blackout, but now, it's just uncomfortable to work out in such heat. My stupid toe wouldn't let me do a part of the Dragon form we were shown tonight, but I did get the rudiments of a tornado kick down again. I must work on that so I don't land like a dork. I was also shown the first few moves for a Tiger Snake form. It's very interesting, but I still have little idea of what I'm doing. My sword form tonight was the best yet, though! I followed the whole way through, and didn't get stuck on the usual tricky transitions. Maybe my time off was good for me....
