I haven't played in years. Once upon a time, I was a hardcore tournament Magic player and collector. I consistently placed within the top five at tournaments, but at long last, I've decided to sell off my collection. f00 is selling his, too. As cards go up on eBay, I'll let you know. I stopped playing around Visions and Mirage, so there are plenty of cards of interest to Type I players.

We're hoping the sales will cover both f00's and my tuitions. And if it goes well, the comic collection is next. Having been a comic shop manager, I've got quite a collection, mostly of smallpress, non-superhero stuff, and lots of Vertigo titles, too.

After that, maybe I'll start selling off my wardrobe. I have too many clothes, anyhow.....

I hear ya...I recently traded in my collection as well.

...of course all I did was trade it for HeroClix, so I'm not sure how well i'm handling this whole obsessive compulsive thing...

HeroClix is the bastard offspring of Warhammer and Magic. ;)

It's a minis game, each mini being based on a different comic book superhero. They're divided into various levels of power (Rookie, Experienced, Veteran, Unique), and the further up the chain you go it takes more damage to kill them and they either get more superpowers or they have the same superpowers but for longer.

The unique thing about it (and where the Clix part of the name comes from) is that they're mounted on a dial base, and all the data with relevant stats and superpowers information is right there on the dial. When they take damage, you click the dial down, dynamicly updating stats and superpowers.

Rather a bit of fun, actually, But there's already well over a thousand different figures you could potentially collect...and at $2 a fig for the boosters, it gets expensive fast.

Ouch! That would be expensive! It makes me a bit glad I'm still not working in the gaming industry, or I'd probably have this as a new expensive hobby.

Too bad. Magic is a great game. Even if you don't play it anymore, once you give it away, you can never play it the same way again. Those cards in that combination cannot be retrieved. But on the other hand, you'll get good money for them.

I could never sell my Magic or my L5R cards. I'm too attached to the strategy I put into those decks, and the fun I had while building them. All the cards I don't use I'm fine to dump

I don't use any of my cards anymore, and have probably only played three or four games in as many years. I really did love building the decks and playing them, but with the changes in the new Magic rulings, I don't think I could ever have the same sort of fun again. I hear Type I tournaments are all one-round kills, and Type II is all three-round locks. That takes all the fun out of the game, to me.
