It looks like a belly dancer splatted into my monitor. Two false eyelashes and a bindi are stuck to it. I still don't know what I'm wearing to my dance gig tonight, although I do have music picked out. Since it will be in a bar, I'll bring my big ol' Saroyan zills. I'm dancing to Emad Sayyeh's "Min Aboukna L'Ashiye" and the ever-present drum solo by Gamal Gomaa. It's a great, short drum solo. What more can I say?
Yesterday, I made a herd of sterling silver and gemstone chokers to send with Kathryn to the Avalon East Pagan Gathering. Despite being a skeptical secular humanist and not the slightest bit pagan, I'd hoped to attend, too. However, the webpage and mailing list are dreadfully user unfriendly, and I couldn't register in time. Perhaps I'll attend next year. I'm sure such an event is filled with all sorts of interesting people and happenings. I'll betcha I could write a book with my observations. Of course, I might not be invited back again. Heh....
Anyhow,
snowy_kathryn will be meeting other dancers at the event, and was sweet enough to offer to sell my chokers and my dance costuming books while there. I hope she sells the whole lot of 'em! She'll also be attending a
poi workshop, which makes me quite green with envy. It's the only workshop at the whole event which sparks my interest.
Sparks. That reminds me.... I still haven't made my fire staff, yet.
I did more than just make jewellery yesterday. I also made another choli. This one is grey, silver, and black, with the faintest rose undertone. I thought my silver coin bra would look good over top of it, but my penny bra looks much better. I'm debating wearing it tonight. I may choose something a bit more colourful, though. I haven't worn my metallic blue and silver outfit in a long time. Maybe tonight will be the night.
