My internal playlist has gone mad. Over the past twenty-four hours, I've caught myself singing the following songs with no apparent provocation:
- Michael Row the Boat Ashore
- Celine Dion - My Heart Will Go On
- Pet Shop Boys - Domino Dancing
- The Muppets - Muh-Nuh Muh-Nuh
- Paula Abdul - Cold-Hearted Snake
- Sting - Shape of My Heart
- Come All Ye Faithful
- DJ Lebowitz - Because of my Hemorroids
I apparently suffer from some sort of musical Tourette's Syndrome.
In other news, I roasted a goose for supper last night. I hadn't had goose in about twenty-four years, and since I found one on
sale for half-price last week, I decided I was going to have myself a feast. The goose was fairly labour intensive to prepare, but
the end result was very good, and not at all greasy as f00dave and my Dad insisted it would be. I guess it all depends on the way you
cook it. My goose was very yummy.
During the meal, we were discussing the influx of illnesses which coincides with the onset of the school year, and the various strains of influenza which come from Asian chickens. Around then, my guest Aaron looked over at his Malay friend Linda and said, "Get away from me, SARS bitch!"
'Twas hysterically funny, but perhaps you had to have been there to catch the spot-on comic timing....
In other wacky mealtime hijinks, f00 kept calling the goose a turkey. I told him, "No, no! A goose is a pretty bird, but a turkey is a hideous beast with a big, sloppy, discoloured scrotum mashed all over its face and head." And I stand by my statement.

This in itself is conceptionally funny, but what was funnier was the part where she said "He's a lover-boy at play, he don't play by rules..." That had me on the floor.
Muh-Nuh-Muh-Nuh is frequently on my inner playlist as well, especially the "Doo-doo-doo-doot-doo-da-doodle-doodle-doot-doo-doo-doo-doo" intro with the female voices.
Oh shit I've gone and done it again...
Now I have to apply the song in question to my earlobes like a hot compress, drawing the music out of my brain... One listen usually fixes it.
