When I woke up this morning, I found my missing skirts and zills. They were in a bag together, still unpacked from my visit to Sephira a couple of weeks ago. My kasiklar were in the bag, as well as two hip scarves. Phew!

This morning was great. I went to the market briefly with [livejournal.com profile] elanya, and then we went kayaking for two hours. It only costs $10 per hour for a double kayak, so if someone would like to go with me sometime, let me know! It's a great upper body workout, but next time, I'm wearing my biking gloves. I've developed some painful blisters on the web between my thumbs and forefingers. My fingers are still tingling, almost like I'd been mowing a lawn for those two hours.

While out there, we saw an enormous family of ducks. That duck must have had at least two dozen babies. I hadn't realized ducks could be good Catholics! Another duck we saw later had only fifteen babies. She needs to work a little harder, I think.

We also saw a beaver lodge, and a string of bubbles which presumably came from a beaver swimming down near the bottom of the river. We saw leaping fishes, a flapping eagle, a very pretty black and white bird which I cannot identify, and a bunch of sheep. One of the lambs was dead and lying on the landwash. I think the eagle was picking at it. The other sheep seemed unmoved by the tragedy, but were very talkative, all the same.

On the walk home, I stopped by two yardsales and, with less than $10, purchased a skirt, a red telephone, a bag of yarn, a [livejournal.com profile] docbrite book, and a colour inkjet printer. I hope [livejournal.com profile] f00dave can find the drivers for it, because the guy selling it couldn't find them. I could have bought a scanner and a PlayStation (plus controller), too, but I didn't think it was worth the hassle of carrying them home.

Sephira and John are in town, but I may have missed them today. According to the message on my machine, we should be able to hook up tomorrow morning. That's good, because I'd love to see them again!

What a crazy day! After the walking and kayaking, I came home and did an ab and glute workout. Now I'm on my way to kung fu practice. I think I'll work mostly on my sword form. I'd like to be able to do the whole thing.

Now this is my idea of a day off!

I haven't put up a gallery in a while, so I'm about to rectify this oversight with a trip through a few decades. )

I serendipitously stumbled upon the music of Tarentella Serpentine, and I'm really grooving on it. If you're a fan of Sheep On Drugs, Soft Cell, or Invisible Records stuff, you'll probably enjoy this as much as I do. It has quirky backbeats accompanied by nihilistic lyrics. I think my favourite tracks are "Glorious Glowing Technicolour," "Sugar Sugar," and "Victim Support."
