I Am a Torture Expert
Mar. 4th, 2005 01:11 pmThings are finally getting back to normal. I resume my night shifts today, and I'll be able to go back to my regular kung fu classes on Tuesday. Because I worked a day shift yesterday, it meant I was able to go to kung fu last night. I'm not surprised I've become soft over the last month. My horse stance sucks, and I've lost flexibility. I pulled a muscle deep within my inner thigh while doing crescent kicks. This made the rest of the class difficult, especially when it came time to do side splits. Yeowch. And then my left foot started cramping up on me. Joy! I had a great laugh out of the pushup portion of the class. Sifu Danny had us doing many variations of pushups. They consisted of me lying on the floor with my hands in various positions while vibrating with the strain of trying to raise my torso. I felt like a half-paralyzed worm, and it made me laugh until the people around me were also laughing at my feeble efforts.
The night before, I got to go downhill skiing. I was aiming for being able to bomb the whole way down the intermediate slope, but I still need more practice. I was able to do it last year, but I seem to have lost a bit of skill. It's hard to progress when I can only go skiing once or twice a year.
Last night, after kung fu, I returned home and watched Anacondas - The Hunt for the Blood Orchid. I was hoping for the same sort of goodbad of its predecessor. Unfortunately, Anacondas is just horrid. It's so bad it's bad, not funny. And there weren't even any boobies!
I need to watch some good movies to cleanse my palate.
In the meantime, I must clear out my browser tabs. ( My computer is reluctant to do anything with all the craziness I have opened. )
