If You Fart, Blame Kathryn
Aug. 13th, 2006 09:06 pmI've pretty much got the hang of my new (and temporary, if all goes well) job, now. The work itself really isn't that onerous. It's just that I'm paid so little, and then I get so tired afterwards that I don't have any energy left to do my gym/dance routine. I've only been to the gym once since I started at the coffee shop. And I went to
snowy_kathryn's class on Friday and was dismayed to find I could no longer do reverse shoulder rolls. They were clunky and rough and really, really, REALLY hard to do even that badly. I looked like a rank newbie, and I think I can blame the hours of incessant coffee-pouring for that.
This is not acceptable, especially considering I have another performance lined up for the 26th of this month, and I'm supposed to be getting myself in perfect shape so I can teach floorwork in the autumn.
Bah, I say. BAH!
But all is not horrid. I had a fun photo shoot with
stuffguy and
snowy_kathryn yesterday at a farm in the middle of nowhere. I've not seen any of the photos, yet, but I'm sure there were some good ones there. We posed inside a garage/barn on some stairs, in a flowery meadow, and on a boulder in front of a pond. I got to see horses, dogs, and barncats. I got to pee behind a manure pile--which was not photographed.
And last night, I spent a relaxing evening hanging out with the cats while reading Anais Nin's Delta of Venus.
Today, I went to the gym and did two classes: cycling and yoga/pilates. And I discovered I can do reverse shoulder rolls again. Not all is lost. Except now I have to go to bed and start the whole work week over again in the morning. 5:30 comes far too early....
