It's not even 11 am, and I've already had a busy day. I did the laundry, took out the recycling, and then did some
real recycling.
My apartment building is undergoing renovations, and a couple of months ago, a notice went around that the bicycle room is being taken apart, so anything left in the room would be thrown out.
Some of the bikes in that room looked like they'd abandoned by tenants who'd moved on years ago. And some were in pretty bad shape, and were likely written off by tenants too apathetic to get rid of their own junk. Last night, the dumpster out back was filled with bicycles, so
f00dave and I fished them all out, and this morning took them over to
Recycle Cycles. We also took over a perfectly nice tricycle and an expensive-looking baby buggy. I hate to see this stuff go to waste when someone else goes without because they can't spring the cash for their kids.
f00dave wants to volunteer there, fixing up bikes to sell for dirt cheap. I think a refurbished bicycle (which may have had many hours of work go into it) goes for $30 there.
I believe it's a good cause. I'd rather see more bikes than cars on the road, any day. And my lungs would appreciate it, too.

snowy_kathryn is off camping this weekend, so I get to take over her dance class for the day. I haven't the foggiest notion of what I'll teach, unless I decide something completely different. Maybe I'll teach something unusual, like poi or stick dance. Hmm....
....
Yesterday, I started taking kung fu classes in the daytime. I must say I prefer this. I felt a lot more awake and fresh than when I'm doing kung fu until after 10pm. Why did I switch to daytime? Well, it looks like I'm going to be playing
Demon the Fallen. So I've been busying myself with reading the rulebook(s). I'm feeling a little bit daunted. I wonder if I'll be filling another giant binder with notes.
