Jumping Ovation
Jan. 18th, 2011 11:08 amI'm posting from my iPad, so my grammar and spelling may be off just because Marvin (my iPad) likes to "correct" me despite having little understanding of such things. Ahem.
Last night, I leveled up at the gym. I managed 25 power jumping jacks in a row, did two pistols on one leg, and one with the other. I attempted the insane hamstring curl, but I am nowhere near strong enough for that, yet. I was only barely able to hold myself horizontal, let alone lift my body, and I quit because I was in danger of hyperextending both knees. But I will find a way to do this exercise, oh yes.
Now, the funny thing is the injury I got during this fitness escapade. I was clapping my hands really hard during the power jumping jacks, perhaps under the subconscious belief that clapping harder would give me more endurance. Well, I have nice purple bruises on my hands from the clapping. I'm a doofus.
Aside from the bruised hands, the killer thing about power jumping jacks is the elevated heart rate and my lungs begging me to stop. I figure that the more I do these, the more my heart and lungs will decide to become more cooperative. The exercise is INTENSE. By the end of the year, I want to be able to do 50 in a row without feeling absolutely wiped. I want to be able to do at least 300 in intervals. Yes, I want to be a mighty superhero. Or super villain. It could go either way, really....
