shanmonster: (For goodness sakes. I've got the....)

For the first time, I'm cancelling dance classes. I'm in the middle of a blizzard wonderland. I'm still heading down to the studio to put up a sign saying class is cancelled for those silly enough to show up, but I'm hoping no one does. I put a cancellation notice at the major radio stations, and from the sounds of things, I don't imagine most people would be keen on voyaging in to town, anyhow. I'm not looking forward to walking there and back in -32 Celsius temperatures with 70 km/hr wind gusts. Nope. Not one bit.

Anyhow, the sooner I get down there and put up the sign, the better. Before I go, here are some links:

Menstrual Blood Extractor: Patented in 1977, this device looks very scary.

Bunny Suicides: Ha (thanks, Dead Corpse)!

Dragon Optical Illusion: A very powerful illusion. Make sure you check out the video (thanks, Dmitrii).

Hockey Fan Curses Lockout from Beyond the Grave: As Canadian a news headline as you'd ever hope to see.

Norwegians Confused by Bush Salute: Dubya is a headbanger.

Parachutist goes into labour in mid-air: What was the silly bint doing parachuting, anyhow?

High School Student Sues to Stop Summer Homework: Oh, poor baby!

Oh, You Ordered the No-Tooth Crust?: Ummy nummy pizza (thanks, Warren Ellis).

Mouse brain cells rapidly recover after Alzheimer's plaques are cleared: "Brain cells in a mouse model of Alzheimer's disease have surprised scientists with their ability to recuperate after the disorder's characteristic brain plaques are removed." Awesome (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] f00dave)!

Hmm. There've been times when a poo snatcher would have come in handy. Remember that do-not-click-here link a couple of days back? Heh!

So how much snow are you expecting to get? I didn't get a lot, compared to reports from Boston, but a foot of snow is still a foot of snow.

As far as the parachutist going into labor mid-air, I would really hate to have been downwind when her water broke.

They're not calling for much snow--just 5 cm or so--but the wind and cold are making it bad. We had plenty of snow on Thursday. I'm not sure how much, but the drifts were burying cars.
