shanmonster: (Spasmolytic)

If I were unfettered by the ever-tightening chains of poverty and gave way to the consumerist ways of my society, I would purchase all of these things:

[Roll your save vs poop]

A D&D Toilet Seat: Check this thing out! Holy moley (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] snowy_kathryn)!

Personalized Figures: The narcissist in me desperately craves a ShanMonster action figure (thanks [livejournal.com profile] tlatoani).

Also, the aforementioned whorish gown isn't nearly so bad when it's worn correctly (thanks [livejournal.com profile] wushi). Mary Gonzalez points out some other dresses sold by the same shop which are horrible for other reasons, though (Rainbow Brite overload, pastel surprise, and the 70s stole tore the side off this dress).

Last night, I went to my parents' place for a traditional Newfie jigs dinner (recipe here). We sat in the livingroom and watched Operation Petticoat as we ate, and then finished off by watching America's Funniest Home Videos, most of which weren't funny at all. I was mightily disturbed by the programme. At one point, the host said, "Experts say you should spend more time reading than watching TV. Well, read my lips." And then he mouthed "Watch more TV."

The wrongness of the moment was overwhelming. This was the first time I'd sat and watched television in about a month, and I hope it's the last for about as long. Yikes, I say. Yikes.

Yummy dinner! Mom makes it with corned beef :) You have a recipe for Split Pea soup, but I was wondering if you heard of this:

My NFLD relatives dropped by for a visit and made a version of their Jig's dinner, but they put split peas in cheesecloth and cooked it with the dinner. It was served as a "side" dish; mushy and very very tasty, it was. For the life of me, I can't remember was they called it...

Pease pudding, perhaps?

YES! That's it :) Thanks!!

I think you're more deserving of an action figure than most.

Anybody want to kick in on one?

I still owe her a Christmahanuquazika present...so I would.

Even if it doesn't happen, you guys are awesome!

BTW, would you be up for a trip to the gym tomorrow before work? We could watch Zombie vs. Vampire, too, perhaps.

Hummm...gym. What's a gym? Oh YEAH! Gym. Sure. I have to square up with them and my credit card snafu anyways. And we so have to watch Zombie vs. Vampire! What time?

I get up around 11, so how about noonish? That should give us time, I think.

Noonish it is. I'll pop by around then.

I'm willing to toss in US$10 as long as you post pictures when it arrives.

What outfits should we get? Belly dancer for sure. Kung Fu fighter, with weapons? Figure model (I guess that comes with it for free ;-)

I'd definitely post pictures if I had such an action figure. I can't decide between belly dancer and martial artist garb, though.

I'd toss in $50us :)

I'm sure if everyone of your readers pitched a dollar, you could probably get 3 or four! Then again, who knows how much this thing could cost! I'd send a buck or few your way, despite my poor broke ass!

I don't know what's going on in your icon, but that's a great photo....

It's an illustration of the fact that it is impossible to lick your own elbow. Unless maybe, you're Gene Simmons.

I checked out their faq and it says a basic figure would be around $400.

I think you can get multiple outfits, too. Just adds cost. So you don't have to choose!

That dress is still ugly the 'right' way around.

Date: 2005-01-31 09:36 pm (UTC)From: [identity profile] shanmonster.livejournal.com
True, but not as ugly.

That dinner sounds yum! And OPERATION PETTICOAT ROCKS!!!!! (I didn't know anyone else knew that movie!)

Pink submarines are pretty ... lame?

No argument there. But weren't Cary Grant and Tony Curtis just dreamy together? *fluttery sigh*

I uh. I was admiring that turlet seat on another site a couple of months ago. Holy moley, indeed. It's groovy, though.

As for the dresses I WHOA. OW. BLIND.

I love your link dumps.
