I have no pity for Joseph and Mary not finding a room at the Bethlehem Inn. Considering they were showing up for a census, and considering they knew all the other Bethlehemites were also returning for a census, they should have known all the rooms would be full. Anyone with any sort of foresight would have phoned and made reservations months in advance.

Gotta say that while working in the F & B industry (translation: while working as a waitress...) I would feel this incredible frustration with people who would arrive at the restaurant with a party of 12, on New Year's Eve (or something similar) and then get all pissy when we wouldn't have any free tables. Book already people - it's not THAT hard.

And my my husband and I had a good laugh at that your "revelation".

I worked in the hotel industry for several years during and after college. This might be the funniest thing I've read all year.
