By request, here's a recipe I came up with for a yummy, yummy soup.

It's different every time I make it, so substitute at will.

1 lb hamburger
1 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic chopped
1/2 big can of tomatos
about 5 cups of water
1 can kidney beans (rinsed to get rid of the fartiness)
1 cup salsa
1 small can tomato paste
1 Tbsp crushed red pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp marjoram
1 tsp basil
2 bay leaves

Brown the burger, onion, and garlic. Add everything else, and bring to a boil. Turn heat down and simmer until the consistency looks favourable.

That's it. Pretty simple, hmm? I find the soup tastes even better after it's been in the fridge for a day or two. It reheats really well.

I make a vegetable soup that kind of deteriorates after about a day in the fridge. The potatoes get mushy. But I looove that soup to take to work in a thermos. Mmmm. It's in Joy of Cooking.
