Upon waking, I realize the Sifu actually did not demonstrate his point to me last night. All he did was show he is faster than I am, which is pretty much a given considering our respective lengths of training. I held my hands up in my standard fighting position, but I was not trying to hit him. Had my hands been down by my waist, as he'd directed, while not trying to strike him, he surely could have hit me faster.

He proved nothing aside from a bullying nature.

He did teach me a new two-handed block which I quite like, and he did correct my movements in this technique in a way which makes a lot of sense to me. However, his instruction in other areas (eg. stances) is pretty much absent.

I believe he is a good martial artist, but not a good teacher.

Sounds like it, but there's still no call for him to be abusive that way. Is he a recent immigrant? (I ask this because the standards on physical contact can be very different in Chinese martial arts schools.)

Hmmm...I see the potential for a really cheezy wuxia film here! I'll gather up a bunch of my fellow San Soo (Choi Lay Ho Fut) friends and we'll make our way north to avenge your honor against this sifu. The long drive will give us plenty of time to practice talking with our lips out of synch with the audio and learn to speak in a stilted manner that suggests word-for-word translation without regard to context!

"Hmmmmm...so! You believe your Kung Fu is a match for ours! We will to teach or instruct vaulable lesson! Ha!"
