I'm feeling a bit better. My lungs still burn like the trashpits of Gehenna, but at least I can talk a little, now. I went to
both dance classes today, although
snowy_kathryn and
random_echoes did covered the beginner class for me. I danced very carefully for a few
seconds at a time, and when I came home, I was exhausted. I fell into bed and slept for a couple of hours.
Last night, I finished reading the American volume of Steven Marcus's World of Modern Fiction. 90% of the stories are dreary and depressing, focusing on such themes as Jewish guilt and soldiers returning to a world with which they cannot cope. The stories are heavy and brooding. I was hoping the European anthology might be a bit lighter, but the opening Sartre piece (The Childhood of a Leader) is nihilistic and the hateful main character appears to be a sociopath. Are the only stories with uplifting themes relegated to those godawful Chicken Soup for the Soul books? Surely there are excellent pieces of literary modern fiction which won't make one want to give up the ghost.
I borrowed a couple of DVDs from Kathryn to watch: The Ten Commandments and Stargate. It's been a long time since I've seen either. I'm sure I'll enjoy the former more than the latter. Charlton Heston makes an awesome Moses, and I relish the opportunity of drooling over Yul Brynner playing the Pharoah. What a beautiful man he was....

And now, just to completely mess you over, would you like to know where furries come from (NSFW in any capacity)?

God Is God, with the Charlton Heston
lyrics? It's very good, in its many
remixed forms. I could probably send it
to you via IM, along with some Muslim-
gauze, once I get unpacked, if you'd
like.
I cannot view the NSFW video. I think
I am missing some porn codecs, judging
by the amount of my porn that is not
viewable at this time. Perhaps you could
point me in the right direction?
