I can now transition (mostly) seamlessly between butterfly (large and small), side circles, and a weave with the poi. Go me! Now, I just have to start figuring out the other stuff. I think I'll try a new manoeuvre tomorrow during break.

you may also consider knee high nylons and tennis balls.. can be smoother for those just beginning.

I think I'm doing pretty well with my chain and tennis balls. I thwacked myself in the ear with it twice today, but it doesn't hurt nearly as much as a fist. Heh....

Wow...that brings back some memories. When I was a child, my mother was part of a profesional Tahitian and Hawaiian dance troupe. Poi were an everyday kinda' thing for me
