On my first break today, I went outside and reclined on the grass, staring up at the sky. I couldn't do it too long, though, because the sky was too bright. Bright lights make me sneeze.

A fair number of people contact me asking for free "sample" lessons. I'm actually pretty amazed at the gall, since I specify on all my advertising the rates are $70 for six weeks, or $15 per class. When they press the issue, I tell them that I'm not given free studio time, but must pay to rent it. Now, I have no problem with bartering, should the student in question just be po' (I know--I've been there many times). But these people don't want trades. They just want free classes, and I just don't get that. Ah well....

Work is spurty today. Busy busy busy, and then nothing. Mostly it's been busy, though.

I'm pretty shagged out today. I stayed up late watching The Shawshank Redemption. I like it as much now as I did the first time I watched it, but I think it gave me restless dreams. I woke up feeling like I'd barely slept. Then I went out with f00dave and snowy_kathryn to the tattoo parlour. And that's when f00 got his very first tattoo. I'm sure he'll be sharing all the details!

Congratulations are due to curtana and forthright on successfully sprogging an Arthur.

My hands are sweaty and gross. I'm also high from marker fumes. Wheeeee-eugh!

Hmm, interesting... a coworker of mine has the same reaction to bright light; it makes him sneeze. any idea why that is?

My optic nerve is close to my sneeze button. I've known a few other people with the same sun "allergy." I guess it just proves I'm a vampire.

There's some info at http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/aug97/865380242.Me.r.html - it's pretty common, and probably some sort of cross-wiring thing. It's apparently hereditary, too ;)
