I got in a fight last night. I'd like to think I had the upper hand, but since my opponent was already shagged out from her prior two fights, I took it easy on her. At some point during our battle, she gave me a purple nurple. Yeow!
Kung fu was strenuous. I did front kicks across the field, up the steep Buchannen Hill, and back down and across. I'd never tried doing front kicks up or down a hill before. It's really very hard. My legs are suitably wobbly today, although biking up the hill to work was a breeze in comparison.
Justin from kung fu says he wants to go biking with me sometime. I'll have to schedule a daylong jaunt. I haven't been on a serious bike ride in a few years, and we might end up going out to the countryside. I should go get my bike tuned up beforehand.
When I got home from class, I watched the latest installment in the Hellraiser saga: Deader. It was far better a movie than I expected it to be. I wouldn't call it one of the best horror movies out there, but it did a good job of putting me in a creepy mindset, and at one point, it succeeded in making me yell in surprise. The bad points were the overuse of "arty" camera angles. When the camerawork is distracting from the story, that's just not a good thing. The other annoyance was the overabundance of gratuitous nudity. Honestly, I would have preferred more plot. It's much more interesting than softcore porn. Still, the acting is decent, and the story is interesting. That's not too shabby!
Theoretically, today is my day off from work. However, since extra hours were offered and I'm in my usual sore need of cash, I volunteered to come in for a half day. When I get home, I want to go to the gym and/or go kayaking. I haven't been to the gym in over two weeks, but I don't feel overly guilty since I have been doing all sorts of other exercise: biking, dancing, kung fu, kayaking, walking. I'm just finding it difficult to work around my schedule, and still fit in time for reading and being even a teensy bit social (although I'm not a terribly social animal).
Once upon a time, I didn't need to sleep very much. That did the trick. I used to be like Jordan in Real Genius: hyperkinetic.
I recently received a copy of Aruna's Dancer's Arms. I have a good feeling about this DVD. I can't wait until I have a chance to really try it out. So far, I've only had a chance to do about ten minute's worth of it, and that's not enough. Where are those extra hours, again?
