It's like a mad hellbeast is trapped within the confines of my abdomen and is trying to writhe and claw its way out of me. It's bad enough that I've stayed home from work, and I've scheduled myself a doctor's appointment. It's not normal for one's period to consistently make one bedridden for one day every month. To top it off, for the past few months, I've been nauseated and running a bit of a fever each time.
It's enough to make me want to be cored like an apple, to scoop out all those gooshy, pain-causing womandy bits.
A nap this afternoon helped, as did the Advil. Now I'm counting on an herbal remedy to kick in at some point and tide me through the rest of the night.
In other news, I finished reading James Morrow's The Eternal Footman and have started onto Aldous Huxley's The Devils of Loudun.
