Keep On Moving Don't Stop No!

I'm contemplating moving to another city come January or so. Right now, I'm thinking Kitchener, since I know people there (waves at snowy_kathryn and zero_design), the university classes look really good, it looks like there are ample performance opportunities (dance, and maybe even DJing again), and I'm also close to lots of dance workshops. So I'm going to see if I can get a transfer there with my job.

The bad thing is that f00dave wouldn't be able to join me for up to a year. That sucks, but we've lived apart before and did just fine despite the distance. There's really nothing for me here in Fredericton.

But I've been sniffing around at apartments, and they look expensive--about one or two hundred dollars more than they are here. I'll have to see if my pay raise (should I be so lucky as to obtain a transfer) would be commensurable with the price of living there.

Eeeeee! I don't care what I have to do, who I have to talk to, or any plans I have to make...I will help you move to Kitchener, and have an awesome time, if that's what you and Dave want. Would you consider living with a roommate? That would certainly help with the $$$ problem.

I think I'd pretty much have to live with a roommate. From the looks of things, unless I really lucked out, I couldn't afford my own place.

I'm looking forward as hell to being able to visit! I want to be out of Fredericton, man! In a bad, bad way. Hell, if I bought a cheap-ass motorcycle next summer, I could visit that way. Probably cheaper than the train/bus, and I'd have a shitload of time to just think.

...

And besides, I'd have an excuse to wear leather. *guffaw*

I dunno.. You've never lived in the armpit of canada before.. You might want to visit before deciding to relocate here. :)

I am on board with the motorcycle though.. Just make sure you retrofit the seat with something more comfortable. Man should not have to wait a couple hours after an extended ride to be able to do #2..

And it's not that far of a drive.. It's about 26hrs to halifax from here, and I'm an hour farther than kitchener..

I've visited Ontario several times. Ottawa, mainly, Toronto for a conference. From what I hear, I'd fit in a whole fuck of a lot better out there than in Fredericton, and so would Shan. We'll see, nothing's set in stone yet, anyway.

Depending on what a cycle costs to own and run, it might be better to just fly , bus, or train. Which means I probably won't get up there much at all. *shrug*

So about 20 hours to K/W. That's too long to do in one stretch, alas. I could manage 16 hours, barely. Thus hotel costs enroute. :-/

Then again ... it's freeing. But expensive. Bloody funding!!!

The thing is, I'd still have to be making enough to help pay f00's rent back in Fredericton, too, or at least to continue paying off my student loan while he stayed back in Freddy Beach. That's a lot of bucks.

With graduation right around the corner, I rarely have time to check LJ anymore. Even when I do, I usually lurk, rather than post. However, today I figured out how to get Lynx running on the MRI scanner, so while I do my experiments, I can comfortably surf the graphic (and advertisement) free web with ease. And even respond to LJ posts, too!
In any case, you're probably wondering where I'm going with this. Well, if you move to K/W, then I'll be but a short distance away in London (or Toronto, next year)! Dave and I can play "Leptoquarks on the floor" and I can introduce you both to all my cool SW Ontario friends! Yay! Yay Shan and Dave! Come now!
