[Dirty Pretty Things]Yesterday started horrifically, but finished off well enough. f00 made me supper, and we watched the excellent, squeeze-your-heart Dirty Pretty Things before going to bed.

Lindsay Lohan Is Hermione Granger: Very stupid, but it made me grin like a fool.

Tom Cruise Was Happier In Previous Life: Oh dear. Tom Cruise thinks he was who?

Amanda Lepore photos: NSFW. What a bizarre person. My favourite picture is the one with the straw.

Mashed Taters: Anthropomorphic potatos freak me right the fuck out, but I don't know why.

Flavor Spray: Aerosol seasonings sound dead wrong to me.

The Infinity Room: Not for people with vertigo.

I want to be your cat: A cat's résumé.

Holy Mother of God: Catholic paintings are funny!

Work is burning me out. I need a break. Too bad I'm leaving in another three hours to start another shift, hmm?

Oh my lord! That's got to be the funniest "Taters Remix" I've seen in quite a while!

re Tom Cruise

Ever notice how everyone who "recalls" past lives had been Einstein, Bach, Queen Elizabeth I or Cleopatra?

Never a street-schlumper from lithuania in 1322... Whatever happened to the offal collectors in Cleo's time? Where are THEY now?

Running the country, perhaps?

Heh -- Incarnate!

Um, anyway, how much longer before they lock Tom C up?

'Mundane' past lives

Rimmer: I'll tell you something. Something I've never told anyone. When I was fifteen, I went to Macedonia on a school trip, to the site of Alexander The Great's palace. And for the first time in my whole life, I felt ... I felt I was home. This place was where I belonged. Years later, I got friendly with a hypnotherapist - Donald - and told him about the Alexander the Great thing, and he said that he'd regress me back through my past lives. I was dubious, but I let him put me under. It turned out my instincts were absolutely correct - I had lived a past life in Macedonia. That palace was my home. Because, believe it or not, Lister, he told me that, in a past incarnation, I was Alexander the Great...

...'s chief eunuch.

Well, maybe it's rot, I don't know. But it's funny - to this day, I can't look at a pair of nutcrackers without wincing. And why is it, whenever I'm with a large group of women, I have this overwhelming urge to bathe them in warm olive oil?

Lister: I have that urge, Rimmer. It's got nothing to do with past lives.

Someone suggested that what makes a person great is all the number of souls inhabiting them. That's why so many people were Napolean, Alexander the Great, and Shakespeare. When they fracture down to just one soul, then they're just an ordinary Joe.

I think it sounds like a good premise for a fantasy novel.

Speaking of Incarnate

Oh, and is The House on the Rock one of yours?

As I recall you handle Hotel Reservations, no? Might be worth a visit...

Nope! We don't do hotels outside of Canada.

Wait, so you have an extreme aversion of Mr. Potato Head?

A bit, yes.
