f00 has a nasty-assed flu or something, I've been asthmatic for a week, and the mysterious lump in my leg has hardened and numbed. Maybe I'll need to get it removed. It might be one of those calcified fat nodules like f00 had removed from his arm a while back. I've scheduled yet another useless doctor's appointment for Thursday afternoon. Hopefully, she'll actually have something informative to say other than, "Hmm. Maybe you should keep it elevated and avoid getting hit there again until it's healed." I've slept with the darned thing elevated every night, and haven't seen any sort of a difference. In the meantime, I have the lumpy, bumpy ankle of an old lady with rheumatoid arthritis. Joy. At least it doesn't affect my movement.

Despite all this, life continues as before. Yesterday, I accomplished much. I had my first dance troupe rehearsal (although it ended in disarray; we need to choose a new song, I guess), I practiced zilling (and didn't entirely suck), and I also completed two new three-tiered skirts. One of them is a flirty miniskirt made of vintage navy, red, and tan paisley polyester in a larger size (hopefully someone will fall in love with its cute ugliness). The other is a very, very orange cotton and floorlength. I'm considering wearing it at my Friday dance gig.

Once again, I've changed my mind about the music I'll use. After trying a run-through yesterday of the George Abdo piece, I've decided the music just doesn't move me. That, and I'm still not completely comfortable with the accents in the drum solo. My dancing was off. So I'm going to go with Rachid Taha's "Habina" and Gamaal Gomaa's drum solo again. I love both of those songs, and I know them inside out and backwards.

I really do want to practice my zilling and spoon-playing. I need to find my Saroyan zills. They're kicking around, somewhere. I'd also like to find an inexpensive Turkish spoon provider, so I could start teaching spoon-playing to my students. At some point, in the not-too-distant future, I want to incorporate zills and spoons in a show. Not concurrently, of course. Although, that might be interesting. Hmm... Zills on one hand, and spoons in the other. I'll bet it'd sound like crap, but it might be fun for a comedy piece....
