Me: Thank you for calling __ Hotels, how can I help you?

SC (Silly Customer): I want to check rates for this weekend.

Me: Which nights are you looking for?

SC: (sounding frustrated) I said this weekend.

Me: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, or some combination of those days?

SC: Oh. Just Saturday and Sunday.

Me: Ok. I'll be just one moment while I check availability.

SC: (in surly tones) I didn't ask for availability.

Me: (confused) Er, didn't you want to know the price of rooms?

SC: Oh. I didn't know you were still there. Yes.

Me: Well, I have to see if there are rooms available in order to give you a rate.

SC: Oh. Ok....

What is with these people? Sheesh.

One wonders how folk like that are capable of arriving at a destination outside of their usual routine (and even that is likely a daily miracle).
