shanmonster: (For goodness sakes. I've got the....)
[livejournal.com profile] f00dave and I are thinking of making and selling jewellery online. We've been coming up with a few designs together. I'm not happy I don't have access to a metal studio. This curtails just how much I'd like to do, but we can still manage a lot with leatherwork and cold connections.

Right now, I'm thinking about how to finagle tusk earrings while keeping them light enough to be wearable. I think it can be done.

I'm also thinking of chokers, bracelets, and belts made based on a design f00 came up with, but with a few modifications incorporating stone doughnuts. I think there's a lot of potential there. Leather, stone, and bone can look so nice together.

And then there's all those seashells I collected a while back. Hmm....

I spent last night over at Greg's place playing Dance Dance Revolution. I'd never played it before, and I'm hooked. I still can't do more than the beginner level of the game, but I fancy it up with all sorts of spins and drops. I've got to get myself a copy of it. This shit is FUN, and not too shabby as a warm-up exercise, either.

I spent the morning and early afternoon with [livejournal.com profile] aberrantmist and [livejournal.com profile] f00dave. We went out for a delicious breakfast at Cora's, and then browsed around the various cool and funky shops of Fredericton (and although this is a small city, there are some interesting stores). We went to Urban Almanac (where we got a present for [livejournal.com profile] snowy_kathryn), Cultures Boutique (where I got some orange/cinnamon incense), Paradise Imports (where I ogled this ring yet again), and then the Salvation Army where I scored an awesome vintage bead necklace with hand-painted bird motif porcelain beads in Wedgewood blue and white).

Afterwards, Guylaine came by and there was much drama. She was planning on moving back to Montreal today, but apparently she decided to stay at the last minute. Fie on drama. And poo on it, too.

Now, I must be off to do some more costuming before my dance class starts.

Oh my GOD that ring is beautiful! It reminds me of some of the huge carved carnelian Afghani signet rings I've been seeing pop up all over the tribal bellydance community.

I've been wanting that ring for months, but poverty prevents the acquisition. Some day I'll win a lottery. Of course, I'd have to buy tickets first, right?

I've been eyeing giant carnelian rings on ebay. *le sigh* And ditto on the lottery.
