shanmonster: (For goodness sakes. I've got the....)
My vacation has begun. So far, I've filled it with poi, dance, and Harry Potter. Overall, I wasn't very impressed with Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. There was far too much teen angst. However, the parts that were done well were very well done, indeed. I liked the dragon on the rooftops. For the first time, the Quidditch game drew me in. And I'm also impressed at the director's ability to make me feel like a lecherous old lady (with the bathtub scene, of course. Any bets on how soon that segment will be made into someone's LJ icon?).

I figured out even more poi tricks. I can now do an overhead reverse criss-cross, and can do body wrap directional changes, too. I've suddenly found ways to invent new tricks every time I take out those poi. This makes me very pleased with myself. Of course, I'm also covered with tiny mysterious bruises from each time I fuck up those new tricks. I look like I was stomped nigh-unto death by miniature ponies on stilts.

And my home dance class has filled up. I'll be back in the studio next week. Good. The living room is no place to teach travelling steps.

Tonight, I'm going to play DDR with [livejournal.com profile] psoridian and company. Hoorah! And the sore throat which plagued me on Friday seems to have been a one-off. I'm crossing my non-superstitious fingers in hope it doesn't return with reinforcements.

And now I'm going to go eat my supper. Lately, I've been an eating machine. I power away food like mad. I don't understand where the enormous appetite has come from, but I'd better watch it. I've gained weight, and not all of it is muscle. Uh oh.

It doesn't help that I bought a cookie cook book today, but the pictures and recipes looked soooo gooooood. Maybe [livejournal.com profile] f00dave will make me some cookies tonight while I'm off doing DDR.

Probably not, though.

Still, I can hope.

AND I DON'T HAVE TO GO TO WORK TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!

You definitely don't want to read the fourth book then! They brought down the angst a whole lot for the movie. But the characters are teenagers, they're suppose to be angsty :P

I've read 'em all. I think the third book is the best of the bunch.

And angst is highly overrated. Poo on drama-impaired teens. Poo all over 'em!

The third book is my favorite too but book six is a close second.
