Silly Customer Tricks - Part Googol

Me: Thank you for calling *** Hotels. How may I help you?

Silly Customer (SC): *static* Hi, I'd like .... authorization ... five ...

Me: I'm sorry, Ma'am, but your signal is breaking up. Can you repeat that, please?

SC: I ... authori... fax ...

Me: I'm sorry, but I still can't hear you. Can I give you a direct telephone number to call?

SC: No. I just want .... authoriz... and ...

Me: I really can't understand you, ma'am. I can give you a better telephone number to call.

SC: Did the hotel receive my authorization form or not?

Me: I don't have that information, but I can give you the direct number for the hotel.

SC: What ... number?

Me: *gives number*

Oy.

Feel ashamed...'cause it's always *your* fault when the customer calls from a cell while driving down the highway. It's not like they can *control* when they call, or anything.

I don't think they were driving, although I certainly get lots of those.
"I shouldn't be looking through my wallet since I'm driving on the highway, but let me find my credit card."

I'm still waiting for an accident to happen during one of my calls.

That did happen to a girl I used to work with.

The caller mentioned that he was on Lake Street, and then later in the call said, "Shit! I just hit a guy in a van. Well, I'll have to call you back because I guess I *have to go see if he's all right*.

The other rep told the rest of us all this just after the phone call. We can see addresses in our account databases, so she knew the customer lived in our city.

On the news that night they had pictures...apparently on Lake Street there was a accident where a car hit a van, which in turn crashed *through* a plate glass storefront. Thank goodness no one was seriously hurt.
