shanmonster: (Dance Monkey Dance!)
I just got back from NewBody. What? Not Body NewBody? Yes, they've broken their own trend. Anyhow, it was a plain old aerobics class, and was as boring as sin. Er, make that as boring as no sin. Although I got a decent cardio workout, it was so very bleah that I'll never go to another. My dance practice this morning was much more useful and interesting, even if it only really consisted of maya/figure 8 drills done one-legged. I am pretty bushed from the last two days of gym visitations. I just might skip out on step class tonight and have a rest.

Dancewise, I really need to hone up on my arm work and my reverse undulations. And I still need to find a piece of music to dance to for my double dagger performance in July. I want something glitchy, like maybe Amon Tobin, or Android Lust, or something. I prefer something instrumental, though. I have seven minutes to kill. Any ideas?

I wonder if they'll let me practice with my knives at the gym. There's no room for it in the apartment. Or, if I get myself an extension cord, I should be able to practice in the courtyard here at home. There's a nice little garden area out back, and I could train on the lawn, if I could only have some music.

Glitchy...hrm... There is always Aphex Twin (or just AFX). He's pretty glitchy. He just released a whack of 12" singles under the name Analord. It's more danceable than some of his other stuff and there might be something there you can use.

Something by Juno Reactor might work. You might want to check out some William Orbit.
