Scenes From Yesterday

Walking back from the gym with snowy_kathryn, and a bird chirps cheekily from a nearby tree. I look up at the tree and say, "Shut up! Just shut the hell up!"

The bird chirps again.

"What did I just say? I thought I told you to shut up!"

I look at Kathryn and say, "So that's what it's like to be a crazy person!"

Also, during the relaxation part of the Body Flow class, I paid careful attention to my breathing and realized that when I lay flat on my back and take deep inhalations through my nose, it's exactly like white paint flowing down around the top curve of a waterslide. Exhalations are the same colour as a dusty black chalkboard.

Synaesthesia is only weird to me when I share it with others.

And the other day, I asked Kathryn what she was discussing in one of her graduate level religious studies classes, and she said the concept of being between cultures.

"Between cultures, huh?" I said. "That's like an insideout cheese sandwich."

My brain malfunctions in the strangest ways.

And from overheardnyc comes this:

Little boy: You be the president, and I'll be the terrorist.

It's so bloody obvious that this should become the new cowboys and Indians slash cops and robbers.

I printed out the overheard and posted it in the office. They're having a field day with it and someone suggested it be made into a T-shirt!

The best part of being part of the media is seeing how the brains behind the shows work. The other side of that is seeing the agendas of the guests... or the point they're trying to make.

If that's as "crazy" as you get, then you're doing alright. You should hear what I say to the crows when they walk on my roof in the morning!

I wouldn't say your brain "malfunctions" but your synapses do fire in the most interesting ways.

Talking to things (especially things other people might not notice) is a regular pastime of mine. I regularly hold conversations with plants and animals.
