shanmonster | Back in Ontario!

I'm back home in Kitchener. I arrived around 5 yesterday, without major mishap. We did, however, happen upon the scene of a nasty truck accident shortly after the fact. Emergency vehicles were still arriving, and oncoming traffic was stopped. I'm not sure what happened. Perhaps one truck clipped the other while passing it. The road was blocked by knocked over piggy-back trailers, and the cab of one truck had plowed a huge furrow in the median. I can't imagine anyone being uninjured. The best I can hope is that neither driver was killed. At least no other vehicles were involved.

Once I got back home, one of the first things I did was take my earrings out. When I went back to Fredericton, I was wearing a pair of 18-gauge post earrings. The holes in my ears are 14 gauge. The right earring came out with a bit of tugging, and so did the left earring. However, the stopper for the left one wouldn't come off my ear. My flesh had actually grown over the edge of it, much to my dismay. I soaked it in salt water for a bit, and then

snowy_kathryn tugged at it until it ripped itself out of my earlobe. Jamming the sleeper hoops back through the somewhat shrunken holes was no fun, either. Both ears feel like they've been freshly pierced. Bah.

A birthday picnic is scheduled for today, but the weather is a bit sketchy. It may be an indoor picnic. I look forward to eating. I'm ravenous!
