I'm a One-Shan Circus

I've chosen my outfit: black top with gold and pearl beading, foofy gold pantaloons, black and gold pants slit up the sides to show the pantaloons beneath, and a small black hip scarf with gold coins. I'd have preferred a brighter outfit, but this will do. I may add my black fishnet gauntlets, if I can find 'em. Jewellery will be minimal because it could interfere with poi wraps.

I also discovered some interesting new music over at Boreta.net. Give 'em a listen!

Someone posted on freecycle that they are giving away a skateboard. I put in a request for it, but have yet to hear back. Here's hoping I get to try skateboarding soon. It seems like a good thing to take up after my 35th birthday.

I would also like to try hooping--especially with a fire hoop. Up next, shanmonster skateboards while hooping, spinning poi, doing tornado kicks, and shimmying up a storm, all while on fire! Woohoo!

I want to go to the hafla, but I won't be able to stay more than two hours, tops. I'm supposed to meet with some people that same night.

What are haflas like around here? Do people come in costumes, or regular clothes?

Whatever you like is usually fine. Sometimes only people who are performing get all dolled up. Sometimes everyone does. Either way, wear what you want to wear and nobody will care. It will be fun, I know.
