Here I am in Toronto, killing time until the second Dark Side show. I can't afford to go to both, so I helped
lickthefrog get ready, then vamoosed to the public library. Someone nearby smells of stinky feet, so I shan't be long here.
I had bubble tea, admired the bottom half of the CN Tower (the top half had disappeared in a cloud of pewter-hued smog), and roamed and roamed and roamed. I bought a coolie hat in China town. Almost every store sells them, yet I have never seen anyone wear one. I think it goes rather interestingly with my ensemble (KMFDM red and black tshirt, black cargo miniskirt, black leather rivet belt, thigh-high red and black stockings, army boots, red leather collar, and a black, blue, and yellow headscarf).
I forgot to mention that while I was at the skeezy mall yesterday, I stopped in the dollar store and found a solution to my poi problems: little silicon-blobbed keychain ball fobs with LEDs inside. They light up when struck. This makes them perfect for kick changes. Hell, they even light up on simple wraps, so I'm set. And they're just a buck each, the same as glowsticks, with more excitement value than glowsticks. And they come with swivel clips. What's not to like? My current set are yellow and orange, and I imagine I'll be doing lots of sidewalk poi-ing until it's time to go watch the dance show.
And another thing.... Last night, as
snowy_kathryn,
real_bethy,
zero_design, and I walked to the theatre, we were accosted by a herd of men with roll-along coolers in tow. They gave us free bottled water.
Bizarre.
So where is everybody? When I got on this internet terminal, I expected to see plenty of posts in LJ land, but there's not much. I can practically hear crickets.
