I'm currently using [livejournal.com profile] snowy_kathryn's laptop, which will do for the moment.

I need my computer. I can't afford to get it fixed, but I can't afford for it not to be fixed, either.

Was it something obvious failing? I do have some parts kicking around so I might be able to help

Let me know

I really don't know. There were no weird noises or anything, so I don't think it was the fan or the hard drive. It just powered off while I was watching a DVD, and when I try to turn it on, nothing happens at all. Same thing when I try turning on and off the power supply in the back.

Maybe it's the power supply.

Could be that, could also be the motherboard. Can you hear any of the fans spinning?

I could give it a quick once over at some point if you want and let you know if you are looking at a mountain or a molehill in cost terms

I heard nothing because the computer wouldn't even acknowledge that it had a power button.

It was only the power supply, thank goodness. Nothing else got fried.

I've got a bunch of spare parts and things floating around my place. If it's something relatively easy to fix (like a bad power supply or something), I can probably help out.

Damn. That was exactly what it was. And now I'm $132 in the hole. Well, poopy.

Good luck getting it fixed...I hope it's something cheap and easy to fix. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out.

No such luck, I'm afraid. It was easy to fix. And the part wasn't expensive. But the service fees? Yikes.

As for helping out, how would you like to keep me company on Friday night after your dance class? I could make some tasty foods and we could watch a video or something.

Bah! Service fees stink. And I hate how the service fee cost is never quoted in the price you're given...it's a nasty surprise that shows up with the bill.

I'd be thrilled to keep you company on Friday night after dance class! Count on me being there - and count on me being hungry (**LOL** I always eat a lot after bellydancing for some reason)! Do you want me to bring anything?

Bring your appetite!
