shanmonster: (Spasmolytic)
I am a modern-day Herakles. Yesterday, when I finished my first break, the supervisor said, "Can you please go sweep the parking lot?"

"The whole parking lot?"

"Yes."

"With what?"

"With this." And I was handed a little straw broom.

"Uh, ok. I'll be a while."

And I was, too. I was sweeping that damned driveway for about two and a half hours in the cold and wet with a crappy little kitchen broom.

If I'd had a river handy, I would simply have diverted it and washed away the cigarette butts, squashed paper cups, and doughnut detritus that way. But Kitchener doesn't have many rivers, so the broom had to suffice.

My shoulder and neck are fuckered now, though. I don't know if it's because of the marathon sweeping, but my old whiplash injury seems to have returned. Damnit! I have butoh in the morning. How do I dance when it hurts to turn my neck?

Bah!

Not It!: Elementary school bans tag.

Gravestone Shop: Honestly. There's Hello Kitty everything out there.

Sounds like revenge for you giving notice. Aah, the sweet perks of management!

I don't think so. The supervisor who assigned it to me is a really sweet little thing. I don't think she's very malicious.

I don't think the management is petty, really. Aside from the one crappy supervisor, they're all very nice.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Surely there was a hose? Which is like a tiny
river.

And the audio track in that Samia Gamal was
Goldfrapp? I should've grabbed some of that
when I had the chance the other day. :(
