If today is All Saints' Day, when is All Sinners' Day?
Welcome to the first day of NaNoWriMo. Will I be able to do it, this year? I'm going to try.
You know how yesterday I asked could it be that things are finally coming together? Well, I spoke too soon. In fact, I downright jinxed myself. Despite all the jumping through hoops, all the faxes, all the phone calls, and all the travel (I went back to NB to talk to representatives directly!), the state of my student loan is a complete mess. The loan I thought I'd been paying off isn't the entire one. There's a whole other loan that wasn't being dealt with all this time, and now I have a much bigger debt than I thought. I thought they were consolidated (and I'm sure they were for a while), but I guess they aren't now. This exact same thing happened to me ten years ago. The daily interest is staggering. All my tips for the last three months wouldn't cover two weeks of interest.
To the best of my knowledge, the Chinese government considers the way students are treated by the governments in North America to be a human rights transgression. I think that's rather funny, in a bitter kind of way.
Thank goodness the loan was only taken out for one year. Still, I'd like to know why my one-year loan works out to the same amount as the three-year loan I took out for my BA. Has inflation really effected it that much in just ten years? Jeepers.
And now you should check out these links I found interesting....
Incredible: Feats of strength and impeccable balance by a French-Canadian acrobat/athlete.
You Deserve a Tax Break: Canucks, the conservative government promised us a tax break for gym memberships. Here's how you can go give 'em a poke.
Cartoon: A strange little story about a fox. I won't go into any more details, other than it'll mess with your mind.
U2charist: Worshiping with the musical help of U2.
Al Norman: This man's legs are made of rubber. Freakin' amazing!
I'm going to go grab some breakfast now and do something productive. Tally ho!
